Victor Vasarely was a renowned Op artist whose works are displayed at an art museum in Aix-en-Provence, France. His works inspired many graphic artists and at the same time the stunning impact of his illusive graphics have influenced the Vasarely chair’s designer since his first glance in 1983.

Designed in 2004, this chair utilizes the value of Vasarely’s 2D graphic illusion transformed in 3D via wood working techniques.

By cris-crossing rubber wood panels together, the chair construction forms up a seating part where the upper seat edges are to be refined by router machine for a lean and smooth surface effect. Then finish with an application of transparent lacquering.
